No one knows when people will be able to get the Digital Rebel XTi. Canon themselves say “available September 2006”, “dealer locations will be available in September”, and so on, but word on the street is that Canon hasn’t given any distributors a ship date.

B&H doesn’t know. NewEgg doesn’t know (and they’re good at picking up new items). Fry’s doesn’t know. Ritz/Wolf doesn’t know. Amazon claims October, but they’re notorious for pulling ship dates out of thin air.

I was ready to order this camera yesterday for delivery today. But, given this, I guess I’ll just sit around.

Hum de dum…
